Entering Covid this client needed a place where the family could go on vacation safely, on their own property. The focus of this backyard oasis is a free form, custom gunite swimming pool by SSG Pools, which blends seamlessly into the surrounding landscape. The goal was creating a calm and inviting outdoor retreat. The custom gunite pool is built into an existing hillside and the natural stone retaining wall, built on the far wall of the pool creates a backdrop. A sheer descent waterfall is a focal point, emerging from the face of the wall.
The rest of the pool is framed by a beautifully crafted paver patio shaped to accommodate a variety of uses, activities and seating environments.
Plantings are a mix of native plants and specimen plants creating focal points while softening the impact of the stonework with a variety of textures and colors.
Extending from the patio, carefully designed concrete paver walkways guide movement throughout the yard, connecting each element with purpose and flow.
Elements of note include a pool house, an outdoor kitchen, a custom pavilion, and a firepit surrounded by natural stone pavers located at the top of a natural granite staircase which heads up into the woods.
